Dashboard Hub uses Atlassian’s platform infrastructure for data storage, which means that your dashboards and datasources data is stored on your Atlassian Cloud instance, no data is moved out of it.
The app acts as a proxy, it encrypts and decrypts the data to perform requests, only if the acting user has granted access to it.
What and where is stored?
The specific data depends on the type of datasource, but it usually includes the creator uuid (Atlassian uuid) and when it was created (timestamp). When we store the credentials, we use your own instance, and that data is encrypted.
Slides and gadgets' configuration, time between slides, the access restrictions, when and who created it, etc. This data is also encrypted.
Thus, datasources are stored with a double encryption mechanism, meaning that even being the users owners of the datasource, they cannot access the data (emails, tokens…).
These measures make two actors needed for the data to be accessible: i) The Dashboard Hub app installed in your instance and, ii) the data stored in your instance. If one of these actors is not present, the data cannot be accessed.
Dashboard Hub keeps some details of every installation in order to securely enable the communication between the source site and Dashboard Hub (URLs, keys for secure connections, etc.).
It is stored and encrypted on our own databases, and it is never exposed to anyone.
The exposition or corruption of this data would only provoke a disruption in the connection, never the leak of any customer data.
What is NOT stored?
Anything else… this means Dashboard Hub has to request your data every time you open a dashboard. We might add a cache mechanism in the future to improve the performance.
All data related with datasources is encrypted before save them on Atlassian platform.
People and Access
All connections are secured between Dashboard Hub (included its database), the Atlassian platform (any product) and users, using SSL.
Dashboard Hub support team has access to the Dashboard Hub cloud application, and may access customer data (site URLs, Dashboard Hub users' uuid) only for services status monitoring and performing purposes.
