Overview

This gadget displays the number of users gained (or lost) of a given app in a period of time, based on the sale type: New, refund, renewal or upgrade.

The count of users is an approximation made by adding the sizes of the licenses' tiers over a specific period of time and aggregated by the type of the sale: New, refund, renewal or upgrade.

For server and data center licenses, the size of the tier is used, so it’s not a 100% precise number, for example, a 50 users server license is counted as 50 users, although it could be in a range of 25 to 50 users. As for cloud licenses, the number is precise, since the tier indicates the exact number of users of the license.

The gadget displays the four metrics: Users in New sales, Users in Refunds, Users in Renewals and Users in Upgrades.

Configuration

Name your gadget meaningfully, so everyone knows at a glance what it is about and when to use it. Fill out the rest of the fields as applicable, namely:

  • The datasource, select a Marketplace datasource (see Add and Manage Datasources).

  • The vendor associated with the marketplace partner account.

  • The app you want the users data from.

  • The time period you want to display the number of users of your app.

  • Finally, indicate if you want to use the current settings for all the compatible gadgets in the dashboard. This option eases the pain of configuring one by one the rest of the gadgets with the same default configuration
